No Thai! Menu

No Thai is by far the best place in East Lansing to get some Thai food. The staff here are friendly and speedy. I normally get the vegetarian fried rice or the sweet and spicy chicken. The price is rather high for a college town (they charge the same prices you would see in a Chicago town) but the portions of food match the price quite well. I also like the packaging for to-go orders; it's a quality container great for heating left overs. The spring rolls here are also best in town, however, sometimes I pass on ordering them considering it's $3 for two rolls. I think $2 for $2 would be more reasonable or even if you could purchase them for $1.50 each would be nice. On the down side, I wish this location could take delivery orders in the store or on the phone. They only resort to online delivery orders. It's a pain because you have to make a profile on their website and fill out this and that. It would be nice if they could just take orders over the phone. I have been to this location over a dozen times in my college career thus far and have yet to be utterly dissapointed.

I ordered drunken noodles (medium) and no Thai fried rice (weak), both with tofu. The food was okay. I didn't taste much basil in the drunken noodles, and neither dish was very spicy. The drunken noodles didn't have too many pepper pieces, but there was a good amount of tofu in both dishes. The price was very reasonable for the amount of fried rice ($8), but I think there could have been more noodles in the drunken noodles ($9). I did get $.50 off my bill because I paid in cash, which was cool. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was okay tasting, but I probably wouldn't go back, because I prefer other Thai places.

OMFG! Having recently returned from Thailand on vacation, I can tell you the food is not only original, but it is of very high quality. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, wonderful food. What's not to like? Eat here, the menu is as diverse as your tastes. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would.

Wasnt expecting much when I came in but i was greatly surprised. The pad thai is very well seasoned and the portion is very large.

No Thai was recommended to me while in East Lansing for a business trip. The portion was good, but the pad Thai didn't have much flavor beyond the spice. Mediocre food but at a reasonable price point.

Worst Thai food I've ever had. Ordered the Pad Thai and Pad Thai Curry and they tasted EXACTLY THE SAME. Even looked the same, although one was supposed to have red curry? Not only that, I've never seen Pad Thai look grey and creamy, and taste just as bland. I could hardly taste any curry in the curry version! Plus I ordered it medium spicy, and had to drown it in Sriracha just to get the barest hint of spice. Quickly abandoned the noodles for their satay, which is actually pretty good, so I at least didn't leave hungry. Also, they were putting chairs up and dragging trash bins while people were still eating... an hour before closing. Come on... I know this is right across campus and they cater to college kids, but this was a little ridiculous.

I got the potato curry with the yoga flam spice. It had absolutely no flavor. The time before I got the Pad Thai with chicken, still no flavor and I got food poising. DONY EAT HERE.

I love Thai food and this is my favorite quick place yet. Had the pad Thai with chicken and spicy chicken and rice and it was EXCELLENT. Great prices , nice staff. Every plate that I saw people eating looked like something I'd want to order. Looking forward to visiting my daughter again at MSU so I can go here again.

The Chicken with No Thai Fried Rice is one of my favorite meals in town. The portions are extremely generous. One order can last me for two meals.

No Thai! quickly serves up some satisfying Thai dishes at a reasonable price. The most impressive part of No Thai! is the speed at which the dishes come out of the kitchen. Don't be mislead, its not instant, but its fast for Thai food. The flavors are what I expect and fairly satisfying and portions are generous for the price. I think the entire experience here is satisfying but not really mind blowing or unique. I think the 3.5 stars is very accurate for No Thai!

We placed a large order (for 20 people) on Saturday, and No Thai did not disappoint! Not only did they get every order right, but they had it ready on time. And the food was pretty dang fresh and tasty. I had the Green Curry and it was perfectly spiced and seasoned. A few people said their food was a little spicier than they hoped, but there were no complaints of bland or tasteless food. I'd definitely come back when I'm in town, especially for a large group order.

No thai has pretty good thai food. I've been to the one in ann arbor and the spicy levels are definitely different. In east lansing the spiciness is definitely on the low side so if you're use to medium and you like spicy you should go one up so get it more spicy then you use to because medium isn't spicy at all. I usually get the pad thai shrimp which is always wonderful and my bf ALWAYS gets the sweet and spicy chicken with the spiciest you can get it which is verrrrry good i'd have to say. But if I had to choose to dine in or get it delivered I would definitely DINE-IN. It isn't as good delivered sadly. But its still a pretty awesome place to get some quick thai food.

Came back here recently for a lunch, and while the food was still extremely tasty, I have to say I was disappointed to realize that they actually have a pretty limited menu for a Thai. That said, my star system is all relative, and it's still the best place for a quick Thai meal near campus. If you have the wherewithal to wander farther afield, though, I've found that Thai Village in downtown Lansing has a lot more variety for similar-style eating.

Very yummy Pad Seeyu. For $8.50, you definitely get two meals out of one portion. Spices were just right for my taste

I was a fan in Ann Arbor, and I'm excited they're in East Lansing. What you see is what you get--large portions, quick service, tasty food. I think everyone is going to have their favorite dish at their favorite place, especially with a few to choose from in the area, in light of different tastes. But this hits the spot every time.

Tried that place yesterday because it's the only Thai place I haven't tried and it wasn't what I expected. First off, the place is pretty nice. Secondly, the customer service is soooo not friendly. The lady took our order as if she didn't care trying to answer the phone at the same time while we were placing our order, didn't even greet us with a hello. Thirdly, my friends told me the drunken noodles was good but when I had it, it was was to salty and way too much sauce I was basically having noodle soup. I'll probably just go to Thai 102 from now on.

Wound up here when Taste of Thai was closed on Labor Day. Taste of Thai is my all time favorite Thai restaurant, so I was bummed when I was in town and they weren't open. Anyway when walking down GR we discovered No Thai and decided to give it a shot. Prices were reasonable, and portions were large. Nothing too exciting on the menu. I decided to try their Pad Thai Curry- basically Pad Thai with red curry mixed in. I love Pad Thai, and I love red curry so I thought it would be great, but it was only so-so. My brother-in law got their cashew chicken, and it was also only so-so. Nothing amazing from either dish we got. Not bad, but with Taste of Thai in town I would have no reason to go back. Service wasn't bad, the girl taking our order was nice and answered any questions we had. However I was kind of irritated when I got bean sprouts in my meal when I asked for it without. I hate bean sprouts, I think they taste like dirt, so it didn't help the flavor of my dish any. Overall the place was alright, but again, with Taste of Thai right down the road I wouldn't need to go back- even if ToT was closed.

No Thai offers decent food, but it's customer service is awful. I used to patron No Thai regularly, but both times I've had an issue, they've completely blown me off. If this is how No Thai thanks those that pay it for food, then I'm going to take my money elsewhere.

The portion was generous. Two meals in one order. The taste....meh. If you prefer Asian Asian flavor, I don't recommend ordering anything in the "stir-fry" category. Pad see ew tasted just...meh. Plain broad rice noodle (well, imo, the noodles are not really broad comparing to what I usually have) were blended with soysauce and overdose of sriracha (I do like sriracha, but the flavor of sriracha was so strong to take over the whole dish). I think one time is enough for me.

  • Brad C.

It's not great. The thai basil was just a stir-fry with dried basil flakes sprinkled on top, not fresh basil. It's really not too good, which is a shame, since thai food is not hard to make well.

  • Amber T.

I come here fairly regularly, and I'm usually satisfied with the food. My favorite is the chicken pad thai, and my second favorite is chicken pad see ew. The portions as large, as you would expect, but the prices are also a little on the steep side. It's about $8.50 for any given entree, so when you add a drink and maybe some over-priced spring rolls you're looking at about $14 for one meal. Despite that, I have to say that No Thai! is the best Thai food in and around East Lansing. Of course, there's nothing close to authentic Thai food within a 100-mile radius, but No Thai! is a fairly good substitute.

Drunken noodles were really greasy and left me feeling queasy. Crab wontons were decent. I might give them a second chance but taste of Thai and Thai kitchen are much much better.

i like this place a lot but i do think it is slightly on the expensive end and hit or miss depending on what you order. if you want a regular, constant hit, order the pad thai curry with tofu and then add a generous dousing of the sweet chili sauce at the counter. i absolutely love that combination. their tofu is some of the best you can find around here, while the meats i've tried have just been ok. also, i think you get more bang for your buck (aka, more food per dollar) if you order the noodles rather than the dishes served with rice. ambience is fine but nothing special.

I'm not sure what any of these people who rate this amazing restaurant with anything less than at LEAST 3 stars are talking about. I couldn't disagree more, but hey, to each their own I guess. Also, it is a clean restaurant, so if someone says otherwise I have a feeling they are just whining to whine. Now to the goods- I would travel well out of my way for the potato curry, it is one of the best dishes I have had, and I'm not just saying Thai dishes, it's one of the best anywhere. Period. I used to get the pad thai, pad thai curry and drunken noodle, but I can't stop getting the potato curry. I always get tofu, and for my money, it's the best tofu I have ever had. Their chicken is really good as well, but their tofu is the PERFECT texture, not soggy, not over fried and tough, JUST right. And if you like spicy food, this is your jam (thank me later). If you're trying to sweat and cry while eating, ask for double dim mak, and make sure you have some time to shower afterward (sounds like it's bad, but it's actually so spicy and so good that who even cares, I just wouldn't get double dim mak for lunch at work). Their spring rolls are decent, my gf likes them, I'm not a big spring roll kinda fan. So, all in all, this restaurant should get 6 or 7 stars, and while I've been told at times that it's not exactly the most AUTHENTIC thai food, I happen to think it is pretty darn close, and it is by FAR the best thai food I have ever had. The employees have always been nice, helpful, and the food is out quickly (unless you go during the week during peak lunch times while the students (ugh) are still in town). If you think this restaurant deserves 1 star, I suggest you go to any of the other chain restaurants whose clueless student employees will surely give you "5-star" service, your "refined" palette will appreciate that. GET THE POTATO CURRY. Just keep repeating that in your head over and over until you GET THE POTATO CURRY.

No Thai has good food, don't get me wrong. They also have TERRIBLE customer service. They frequently mess up orders, which I understand happens, but they make no attempts to correct their mistake or even seem apologetic about it. I've worked in the food service industry, and that is not the way to do things if you want to keep your customers coming back. People have a lot of options, and they aren't going to choose the one where the staff treats them like they're insignificant.

New Thai place! New Thai place! Okay fine it's been here like a year but GUESS WHAT I don't live there anymore so it's new to me. Mom just told me about it last time I was home so we stopped for a little lunch on a Saturday. There was only a handful of other tables, but I think it was also like 2 pm or something weird. You order at the counter, the staff is young and friendly. Menu is on the wall. Somehow despite being pretty bare-bones the place has a funky feel to it. Mom and I split a tofu pad thai curry - we had dinner in a few hours so thus the splitting, but an order could feed a hungry person with a little bit leftover. The food just tasted fresh and delicious, right out of a hot wok. It was just spicy enough (if you can't handle a kick, definitely do mild because the medium bites back a tiny bit). The pineapple really makes it. It was honestly some of the least greasy Thai I've ever had. It's no-frills, small menu, and they aren't reinventing the wheel - but for fast, fresh Thai food, this is great stuff.

I'm eating the Pad Seeyu, with tofu and medium spice, right now. The spice is nice. Noodles are ok. But the tofu is awful. I mean inedible. Like old sponges wrapped in leather. Gross.

I reserve my one-stars for places I won't return to. You had multiple chances. I'd even give you the "most inconsistent restaurant" award if there was one. When I have a hankering for Thai, and don't want to drive too far, I relied on you for a "decent" approximation of my favorite meals. No more. For starters, how many employees does it take to change a light bulb? Really now, how many to clean the dang place? There are FIVE people standing around - including the one at the register SURFING THE WEB - and THERE'S TRASH everywhere. The floor is littered (not just a dropped napkin...), tables are dirty, and NO ONE seems to care. There's no line, only a couple of customers - essentially NO EXCUSE. And, back to that inconsistency problem... YOU'RE OUT OF SPROUTS! Which are an integral part of probably 1/2 of the dishes!!! GO TO KROGER or something. You're also only frying in nut-contaminated oil for some reason. I'm surprised one of your industrious employees even managed to put up post-it notes about your menu issues today. My last experience was ho-hum. I must have had the rude server mentioned in other reviews. But the food was alright, so I tried again. Sorry, but now YOU BLEW IT!

Had the potato curry, and it was fantastic. Talked to the cook who made my dish, and he was a very generous and lovable person. I would love to come back again, but only when he is cooking. If any of you go to eat, make sure you meet this cook -- his name is Paul Oh, be on a lookout for this man. Such a great guy!

The curry pad thai was really good. But the regular pad thai lacked flavor. I'd try them again, but I would get something else. Reasonable prices, and I like the small menu.

Well, we were going to try another Thai joint in EL but it was closed for repairs so, a fellow steered us to this place. We were disappointed to discover that it's a "fast food" style place but we were craving some Thai cooking so I ordered the Drunk Noodles and Wifey had the Pad Thai, both mild because we'd never eaten there before. Also, the menu is sparse. Second downer: Price. $8.50 per meal not including beverage. Third gig: No soup with our meal. Very few veggies in either dish. On the up side: Portions were generous (but what Asian restaurant doesn't serve it up large-style?). Take-out containers are right on the counter and they're the nice sturdy type with lids. So, we'll stop in at the competitor's eatery and compare the two. I told the young lady at the cash machine that I patronize a Thai place in Flint that includes the bowl of soup, serves you at you table (like a real restaurant) and cooks from scratch for almost two bucks less. Parlay Voo a Humma-Humma.............

First I will say I love just about all Thai food. That being said out of the Thai places I have been this is by far not one of the greatest. The food was very bland and he Thai iced tea even taste artificial. I would highly recommend walking the extra block to go to Thai 102 instead, still not the best Thai food I have ever had but it is far better then No! Thai (just be carful at Thai 102 they give you some real Thai heat in their dish unlike here).
